On Tuesday 8th December 2009,a series of four devastating car bombings rocked Baghdad,a capital of Iraq in quick succession,killing more than 110 people and wounding more than 190,according to preliminary reports by the police and hospital officials.

So far  no group has claimed responsibility for the attacks, Iraqi government officials speculate that the attacks were aimed to rattle public trust in the government ahead of general elections in February 2010. Just two days ago, the Iraqi parliament passed a key law that will facilitate elections.
